Franklin Man Accused of Striking Neighbor, Making Death Threats

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin man faces criminal charges after allegedly initiating a physical altercation at a neighboring residence and threatening the lives of the man and his family.

According to a criminal complaint, on March 17, 27-year-old Steven Michael Armant, of Franklin, and another man approached the victim’s residence on Washington Street to retrieve property. After an ensuing argument, the victim asked the men to leave his residence. Armant then allegedly struck the victim in the face and threatened to kill the man and his children.

Armant was arraigned at 10:45 p.m. on March 17, in the office of Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish on the following charges:

— Terroristic Threats W/ Intent To Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
— Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 3
— Disorderly Conduct Engage In Fighting, Summary

Unable to post $75,000.00 bail, Armant was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for March 28, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland.
