FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin Police say around 3:07 a.m. on November 17, officers responded to a report of a Domestic Dispute on West Park Street, in Franklin, Venango County.

Upon arrival, officers observed physical injuries to the victim.

The victim alleged that 39-year-old James Docherty, of Franklin, struck her in the face and grabbed her by the throat, according to police.

Docherty was arrested for the following charges:

-Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
-Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

Unable to Post $5,000.00 Bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. on November 20 Magisterial District Judge Patrick E Lowrey.
