Franklin Man Busted with Cocaine, Heroin

SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man is facing felony drug charges after he was found to be in possession of cocaine and heroin by a State Probation and Parole Agent.

Court documents indicate that the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 37-year-old Michael Anthony Pierce, of Franklin.

According to a criminal complaint, on Wednesday, August 1, Lieutenant Baker, of the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department, received a call from Agent Clarke, of the PA State Probation and Parole Office.

Agent Clark advised Lieutenant Baker that he was at a residence on Egbert Street in Franklin, and he had Michael Pierce in custody for possession of narcotics.

Lieutenant Baker responded to the scene where Agent Clarke showed him a bag which contained five plastic baggies with white powder and brown powder inside. Agent Clark related that Pierce told him it was cocaine.

According to the complaint, the white powder weighed approximately 68 grams and tested positive for cocaine, and the brown powder weighed approximately 4.75 grams and tested positive for heroin.

Pierce was arraigned at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, in Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey’s office on the following charges:

  • Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
  • Possession of Controlled Substance, Felony (two counts)
  • Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia (seven counts)

Unable to post $7,500.00 cash bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, with Judge Lowrey presiding.
