Franklin Man Facing Felony Drug Charges Following Controlled Drug Purchases

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man is facing felony drug delivery and related charges after several controlled drug purchases by confidential informants.

Court documents indicate the Franklin Police Department filed criminal charges against 28-year-old Travis Edward Sharp.

According to a criminal complaint Filed by Officer Wheeling, between the months of January to May of 2019, controlled drug purchases were conducted utilizing a confidential informant (C.I,) and observed by Attorney General Drug Task Force Agents and Franklin Police Officers.

According to the complaint, the C.I. made calls or sent text messages to Travis Sharp who then facilitated a drug purchase and delivery.

The complaint notes that more than one controlled purchase was observed by Attorney General Drug Task Force agents.

Sharp was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, May 13, on the following charges:

– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony
– Criminal Use Of Communication Facility, Felony 3
– Possession of Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Unable to post $15,000.00 monetary bail, he was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, with Judge Kirtland presiding.
