FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man is accused of criminal trespass and drug possession after he was allegedly found intoxicated on a porch on Buffalo Street.

Court documents indicate the Franklin Police Department filed criminal charges against 24-year-old Kaleb Terrell Thomas, of Franklin.

According to a criminal complaint, around 2:34 a.m. on Sunday, February 25, Franklin Police received a report of a male laying on the back porch of a residence located on the 1100 block of Buffalo Street.

Officer Young responded to the location and discovered a black male, later identified as Kaleb Thomas, on the back porch of the residence in the fetal position. Officer Young attempted to speak with Thomas, but he did not respond. After Thomas was awakened, “he was unable to stand unassisted, used slow slurred speech, and did not seem to know where he was. He also had the odor of marijuana on his person,” according to the complaint.

Thomas allegedly admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages at multiple establishments throughout the night within the City of Franklin and admitted to possession of a small amount of marijuana in his right front pocket, the complaint states.

Thomas was taken into custody and transported to the Franklin Police Department where a search was conducted.

A sealed plastic bag containing suspected marijuana was discovered in Thomas’ right front pants pocket, one half-empty bottle of Crown Royal in his backpack, and a second plastic bag containing suspected marijuana in a pocket of Thomas’ backpack, the complaint indicates.

Sheriff Hollidge later transported Thomas to Venango County Jail on outstanding warrants.

The following charges were filed against Thomas on Monday, March 5, at the office of Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland:

– Criminal Trespass-Break Into Structure
– Possession Of Marijuana, Misdemeanor
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor (two counts)
– Public Drunkenness And Similar Misconduct, Summary

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, with Judge Kirtland presiding.
