SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man is in jail on charges of strangulation and DUI.

Franklin-based State Police say the incident occurred sometime between 3:00 a.m. and 5:16 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, on Prospect Avenue, in Sugarcreek Borough, Venango County.

According to police, 29-year-old Darrin Scott Foster, of Franklin, allegedly assaulted a known, 28-year-old Franklin woman and also drove a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

He was arraigned before District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland for Strangulation and DUI.

Unable to post $40,000.00 straight bail, Foster was lodged in the Venango County Jail.

No other information was released.
