Franklin Man Sentenced Up to Four Years in State Prison for Heroin Possession

GavelFRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) —  A Franklin man who nearly died of a heroin overdose in January was sentenced on Monday to serve time in state prison.

According to court documents, 45-year-old Anton Leshawn Roberson, of Franklin, pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy – Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver.

Roberson was sentenced to serve two to four years at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill. He received credit for 173 days served.

The following charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea:

– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver, Felony

He is not RRRI (Recidivism Risk Reduction Incentive) eligible.

According to a previous article on explorevenango.com, a criminal complaint by the Franklin Police Department, officers were dispatched by Venango County 911 to 1428 Otter Street for a heroin overdose.

Upon their arrival, Roberson was found facedown and unresponsive in the upstairs bathroom. Officers gave him medical attention and revived him.

Officers saw a number of baggies, opened and unopened, with what was believed to be heroin in them as well as a loaded syringe and a broken syringe in the toilet.
Officers also saw fresh needle marks in Roberson’s arm and a spoon with what was believed to be heroin in it.

Also found by police were baggies with marijuana residue and rolling papers.

Roberson was interviewed by police and admitted to buying 25 stamp bags of heroin along with two co-defendants for $85.00, according to police.
