CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man was flown to UPMC Hamot for suspected serious injuries following a head-on collision that happened this morning on Bredinsburg Road in Cranberry Township.

According to Franklin-based State Police, 28-year-old Megan N. McClain and 63-year-old Reginald E. Denny, both of Franklin, were involved in the collision that occurred around 8:04 a.m. on Friday, February 8, on Bredinsburg Road, north of 8th Street, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say a 2017 Jeep Renegade, driven by McClain, was traveling south on Bredinsburg Road negotiating a left-hand curve. The vehicle crossed over the center line and into the northbound lane, striking Denny’s 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer head on.

Community Ambulance Service transported McClain to UPMC Northwest for suspected minor injuries.

She was not using a seat belt.

Denny suffered suspected serious injuries. Community Ambulance Service transported him to UPMC Northwest, and then he was flown by Stat MedEvac to UPMC Hamot in Erie.

A front seat passenger in Denny’s vehicle — 22-year-old Breianne E. Coon, of Franklin — was transported to UPMC Northwest for possible injuries.

Denny and Coon were using seat belts.

A third passenger in Denny’s vehicle — a one-year-old Franklin male — was not injured. He was in a child safety seat.

Both vehicles were blocking the north and southbound lanes causing the roadway to be shut down for about two hours.

The vehicles were towed from the scene by Minich’s Towing.

Franklin Fire Department, Seneca Volunteer Fire Department, and Community Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
