Franklin Man Waives Hearing in Drug Overdose Case

Scales of Justice and Judge`s gavelFRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) —  A Franklin man will face trial for a number of drug-related offenses after his case was waived for court Wednesday at the Venango County Courthouse.

Anton Leshawn Roberson, 45, was charged with the following counts:

– Conspiracy – Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession with Intent to Manufacture or Deliver
– Use/Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
– Manufacture, Delivery, or Possession With Intent to Manufacture or Deliver

According to a criminal complaint by the Franklin Police Department, officers were dispatched by Venango County 911 to 1428 Otter Street for a heroin overdose.

Upon their arrival, Roberson was found facedown and unresponsive in the upstairs bathroom. Officers gave him medical attention and revived him.

Officers saw a number of baggies, opened and unopened, with what was believed to be heroin in them as well as a loaded syringe and a broken syringe in the toilet. Officers also saw fresh needle marks in Roberson’s arm and a spoon with what was believed to be heroin in it.

Also found by police were baggies with marijuana residue and rolling papers.

Roberson was interviewed by police and admitted to buying 25 stamp bags of heroin along with two co-defendants for $85.

Roberson remains lodged at the Venango County Prison after failing to post $20,000 bail.
