CRANBERRY TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man is facing a hearing Wednesday on charges from an incident where he allegedly threatened a victim and himself with a knife and stated “It’s all going to be over tonight.”

Court documents indicate 37-year-old Joseph Tee Law is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, in Venango County Central Court.

He faces the following charges:

– Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2
– Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

The charges stem from an incident that occurred at a Cranberry Township residence in late November.

According to a criminal complaint, around 5:35 p.m. on Monday, November 18, Trooper Beightol of the Franklin-based State Police was dispatched to a residence on U.S. 322 in Cranberry Township for a report of a domestic incident.

According to the complaint, Joseph Tee Law and a known victim became involved in an argument at the residence because the victim refused to give Law a ride to Franklin.

During the argument, Law allegedly grabbed the victim’s left wrist with both hands in an effort to remove her phone as she was attempting to call her mother and 9-1-1. The complaint notes this caused swelling and bruising to the victim’s wrist.

Law also allegedly produced a knife, waved it in the air, pointed it at the victim, and stated “It’s all going to end tonight,” prior to placing the blade against his own wrist. His actions placed the victim in fear for both her own safety and Law’s safety.

The complaint notes the victim identified the knife at the scene and it was recovered and placed in evidence.

According to the complaint, after the victim was able to call 9-1-1, and police arrived at the scene, Law was taken into custody without incident.

The charges were filed through Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland’s office on Monday, November 18.
