Franklin Motorcyclist Injured After Hitting Deer

SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man was taken to the hospital for injuries he suffered Sunday night when he hit a deer while riding his motorcycle on Pone Lane in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 9:30 p.m. on April 30, David K. Williams, 44, of Franklin, was riding a 2004 Harley Davidson Classic west on Pone Lane near the intersection of Congress Hill Road when a deer entered the road, and Williams’ motorcycle hit it.

The motorcycle laid down and slid about 300 feet into a ditch located on the north side of Pone Lane.

Williams was not wearing a helmet. He suffered minor facial injuries and injuries to the left side of his body. He was taken by Community Ambulance to UPMC Northwest.

State police indicated Williams will be charged with DUI.

Assisting at the scene were Sandycreek Volunteer Fire Department and Billy’s Garage Towing.
