Franklin Police Interrupt Burglary in Progress at Elderly Victim’s Residence; Officers Struck

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — Shortly after midnight, police were dispatched to the area of the 1300 block of Eagle Street in Franklin for a report of a burglary in progress.

According to Franklin Police, officers arrived at the property around 12:36 a.m. on August 28 and observed a male identified as 41-year-old Brian Coxson, of Franklin, who was allegedly still inside the victim’s residence.

Coxson was allegedly “standing over the elderly victim yelling and threatening her. Officers located a knife on the scene that was lying on the floor of the residence,” according to police.

Coxson allegedly became combative with officers and struck them while being arrested, police say.

After his arrest, he was transported to Franklin Police Department for further processing.

He has been charged with the following offenses via a criminal complaint through Judge Snyder’s office:

  • Burglary, Felony 1
  • Aggravated Assault, Felony 2
  • Criminal Trespass, Felony 2
  • Terroristic Threats, Misdemeanor 1
  • Criminal Mischief, Misdemeanor 3
  • Disorderly Conduct, Misdemeanor 3
  • Public Drunkenness, Summary
