FRANKLIN, Pa. — The Troop E Camp Cadet program received a $5,000 grant from the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

A check presentation was held on August 23 at the Troop D, Butler station where 10 Camp Cadet programs from western Pennsylvania were awarded the grants.

The grant will be used to support the camp, open to youth ages 13 to 15 from the Troop E area of Erie, Crawford, Warren, and Venango Counties.

Camp Cadet is held annually in June at Allegheny College in Meadville and is led by troopers who also stay on campus with the youth. Participants partake in many activities throughout the week; all designed to boost team building, discipline, and self-esteem while strengthening the relationship between young people with police.

Information for the 2018 Camp Cadet program may be obtained by calling Trooper Michelle McGee at 814-676-6596.
