Franklin Teen Accused of Lying to Police About Crash

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin man has been charged with lying to the state police about his involvment in an accident last week in Sugarcree Borough, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, Timothy Matthew Crow, 19, was charged is facing the following charges:

  • Unsworn falsification to authorities
  • False reports to law enforcement authorities
  • False reports

The charges stem from a July 8 accident in the 100 block of Lamberton Street, Sugarcreek Borough.

In an apparent attempt to cover up his role in the accident, Crow reported to police that the car was stolen.

When police confronted Crow, he confessed that crashed his car and fled the scene.

Crow was also charged with various traffic offenses.
