Franklin Teen Facing Escape Charges

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin teen is facing charges after he allegedly escaped from an area detention center on Wednesday.

Franklin-based State Police Tpr. Morrison filed misdemeanor escape charges against 18-year-old Michael Iannelli yesterday at Magisterial District Judge Matthew T. Kirtland’s office.

According to a criminal complaint filed by Tpr. Morrison, Iannelli left Vision Quest Juvenile Detention Center October 26 around 8:30 p.m. without permission.

Police say Iannelli had no intention of returning to the facility.

He was taken into custody at the Travel Center of America in Barkeyville Borough on October 27 around 7:15 a.m.

Bail was set at $45,000 monetary.

A preliminary hearing is set for November 9 with Judge Kirtland presiding.
