SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, around 9:43 p.m. on February 10, a one-car accident occurred on Congress Hill Road, south of Holly Street, in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

Police say 18-year-old Damien S. Hadden-Maxwell, of Franklin, was traveling south of Congress Hill Road. While attempting to negotiate a left curve in the roadway, his 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt started to slide. Hadden-Maxwell attempted to regain control of the car, but he over-corrected, and it began to slide sideways until it struck a road sign and an embankment on the east side of the road.

The car rolled onto its passenger side while rotating in a counterclockwise motion until coming to a final rest, according to police.

Community Ambulance Service transported Hadden-Maxwell to UPMC Northwest for a medical evaluation. Police say he suffered suspected minor injuries.

He was using a seat belt.

He was charged with a traffic violation.

Sandycreek Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Lowry’s Towing towed the car from the scene.
