FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – Charges against a Franklin woman who allegedly hit a man with a baseball bat during a domestic altercation have been held for court.

According to court documents, the following criminal charges against 46-year-old Lisa A. Romero, of Franklin, have been transferred to Venango County Court of Common Pleas:

– Aggravated Assault, Felony 2
– Simple Assault, Misdemeanor 2

Romero is currently free on $15,000.00 monetary bail.

Her case is working its way through the court system.

Details of case:

On Thursday, March 1, Trooper Shiley, of Franklin-based State Police, was dispatched to a location on Shay Road in Jackson Township in reference to a domestic altercation.

According to a criminal complaint, Trooper Shiley met the known male victim at a different location. The victim related that he had been at the Shay Road location to visit his girlfriend, Lisa Romero, and ask her why she didn’t call him after work. He told Officer Shiley that he did not know why, but Romero became very angry with him and began to swing a baseball bat at him. He said he was hit in the face, hand, chest, and arms.

Trooper Shiley observed a lump, swelling, and bruising under the victim’s left eye. He also observed bruising on the victim’s left hand, where the index finger knuckle meets the palm. He did not observe any visible marks on the victim’s chest or arms.

After interviewing the victim, Trooper Shiley was joined by Troopers Seybert and Young who arrived to assist at the Shay Road location. Upon their arrival, Trooper Shiley made contact with Lisa Romero. Initially, Romero would not open the door but finally did after talking through it, the complaint states.

Romero allegedly admitted there had been a man at her house and that she hit him with a baseball bat. She kicked a baseball bat out of the way as she allowed the troopers into the residence where they proceeded to take her into custody, according to the complaint.

Romero was arraigned at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, in Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish’s office.
