Franklin Woman Admits to Texting Prior to Rollover Crash, Arrested for DUI

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, around 6:17 p.m. on August 16, an alleged DUI crash occurred on State Route 322, Victory Heights Hill, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

Police say a known 28-year-old Franklin woman was traveling west on SR 322 and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle rolled onto the embankment.

The woman admitted to texting while driving, according to police.

She was “not wearing a seatbelt and had minor (if any) injuries,” police say.

She was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI and related charges, according to police.

Charges are pending lab results, police say.

The name of the suspect was not released.

No other information was provided.
