Franklin Woman Arrested for Two Alleged DUI-Related Hit-and-Run Collisions

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT)– According to the Franklin Police Department, a Franklin woman has been arrested in connection with two DUI-related hit-and-run collisions that occurred around 11:48 p.m. on October 26 in Franklin, Venango County.

Police say officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Orchard Street on the above date and time for two reported hit-and-run accidents.

Officers arrived on scene and located the suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Pacific Street and Center Street.

The driver of the vehicle, Monica J. McElhaney, 41, of Franklin, was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Police say McElhaney was placed under arrest after she allegedly failed to pass Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

According to police, charges including DUI-General Impairment, DUI – Highest Rate of Alcohol, and multiple summary traffic offenses will be filed through District Judge Snyder’s office.

A preliminary hearing will be scheduled for a later date and time, say police.
