SUGARCREEK BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — A Franklin woman is facing charges following an incident Monday morning where she allegedly drove around the home of a known victim she was ordered to avoid while taking photos, video, and yelling at the victim.

Court documents indicate the Sugarcreek Borough Police Department filed criminal charges against 45-year-old Dawn Janee Whitley, of Franklin.

According to a criminal complaint, around 7:00 a.m. on Monday, August 12, a known victim called the Sugarcreek Borough Police and left a message, and then called back again around 7:55 a.m. to report that Dawn Whitley had been at his residence driving her mother’s vehicle around his yard.

According to the complaint, the victim reported Whitley was taking photos and video with her cell phone. The victim also told police he has court papers, dated May 22, 2019, signed by a judge stating Whitley was ordered from the residence.

The victim went on to report that he had video footage of Whitley driving through the yard and around the house in a blue vehicle belonging to her mother.

The complaint notes the victim also reported that Whitley knows that she and the victim are not to have any contact with each other and said she had come to a job site where he was working in Franklin on July 8 and sat out front and harassed him.

According to the complaint, the victim stated that following the Monday morning incident where Whitley drove around his yard, he sent the babysitter home, and Whitley then went to the babysitter’s residence in Franklin and harassed her, as well.

Lieutenant Baker, of the Sugarcreek Borough Police, viewed both the court order and the video footage of the incident. The complaint notes that at one point in the video footage, Whitley got out of the vehicle and yelled at the victim.

Lieutenant Baker also confirmed with Franklin Police Department that they had received a complaint about Whitley harassing the babysitter in Franklin.

Whitley was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Patrick E. Lowrey at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, on the following charges:

– Stalking — Repeatedly Commit Acts To Cause Fear, Misdemeanor 1
– Defiant Trespass Posted, Misdemeanor 3

She remains free on $7,500.00 unsecured bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, in Venango County Central Court with Judge Lowrey presiding.
