FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin woman faces DUI and fleeing charges following a two-vehicle accident in Cornplanter Township.

Franklin-based state police said 32-year-old Sara Ziemba, of Franklin, was traveling south on Oleopolis Road on Thursday night, when she lost control of her vehicle on a right-hand turn and collided head-on with a vehicle operated by 24 year-old Joshua Bailey of Seneca.

Ziemba fled the scene to a location along East River View Road, where she was found to be in need of medical attention, police said.

Police said Ziemba was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Ziemba was transported to UPMC Northwest and was then taken to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for treatment.

Bailey and a passenger escaped injury.

Charges are pending against Ziemba.
