Franklin Woman Flown to Hospital After Crashing Car into Stone Wall

Police sirenSANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A Franklin woman was flown to a Youngstown area hospital following an apparent DUI crash Thursday in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say the accident happened around 4 p.m. when a Honda Civic operated by a known 37-year-old Franklin woman exited 15th Street (Route 8) and struck a stone wall.

The driver was flown by STAT MedEvac to St. Elizabeth Hospital.

During the course of the crash investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of suspected heroin and related paraphernalia.

Police listed the accident as DUI-related.

The name of the driver was not released.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Franklin Police Department, Franklin and Sandycreek Fire Departments, Community Ambulance, and Lowry’s Towing assisted at the scene.
