Franklin Wrestlers Get Ready for District 10 Tournament

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — The journey to a district title and possible PIAA medals begins on Friday night for the Franklin Knights wrestling team at Sharon High School.

Doors open for the fans at 4:30 p.m., and wrestling will begin at 5:30 with preliminary matches, then the quarterfinals.

On Saturday, the action continues at 9:00 a.m., with the first round of consolations. The semifinals begin at 10:30 a.m.

Session 3 begins at 4:00 p.m. with the third- through sixth-place matches.

The Parade of Champions will be at 5:30 p.m. with the finals following.

The Knights will take to the mat at 113 pounds with Matt Vincent facing Union City’s Judah Garner. A Vincent win will put him in the quarters against Titusville’s Hunter Thompson.

Then, at 152, Vincent Greco will take on Maplewood’s JD McFadden. A Greco win puts him in the quarters against Eisenhower’s Spencer Head.

At 182, Hunter Exley will face Maplewood’s Taylor Donovan. The winner will face Saegertown’s Cody Mulligan.

At 195, Hagan Cook will wrestle Conneaut’s Wes Gerber with the winner taking on Fort LeBoeuf’s Lane Reinwald.

At 220, Zach Baughman will battle Youngsville’s Austin Spear. The winner opposes Greenville’s Blake Reynolds.

The top six finishers will qualify for the Class AA Northwest Regional Tournament in Sharon March 3-4.
