The festival showcases Venango County’s beautiful waterways and trails.

Festivities and registration for PA Stone Skipping Competition begin at 11:00 a.m.  Kids can take part in crafts, enjoy the petting zoo or compete in the annual Rock Painting Competition.  Food will be available. O.A.R.S. will offer kayak demos.

The PA Stone Skipping Competition begins at 1:00 p.m. for Youth & Amateurs.  Professionals compete at 3:00 p.m. Those who have not previously qualified as a pro, must first participate in the amateur category and if they score 25 skips or more, they may then register in the professional division. 

2017 PA Stone Skipping Champion, Drew “The Canadian” Quayle, Guinness Record Holder Kurt “Mountain Man” Steiner and Keisuke Hashimoto, Japan’s Champion, will be among the competitors.  

A special tribute to Franklin’s Russ Byars will take place.

The following nearby parking lots are available for spectators: Salvation Army, Elk & 8^th, the VFW on 9^th Street (Liberty Street side & behind building on Buffalo St) and Saint Patrick’s Parking Lot at corner of Buffalo & 10^th Street and the Franklin School District Parking Lot at Elk & 7^th Street.
