Whitten FredFred A. Whitten, 76, of Franklin, passed away at 6:20 P.M. Sunday June 28, 2015 at UMPC Hamot in Erie.

Born January 12, 1939 at his family’s home in Rocky Grove, he was the son of the late Alan Leland and Grace Elizabeth Reagle Whitten.

Fred was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and also attended Vo-Tech.

Upon graduation from high school, Fred proudly served three years with the United States Army.

He worked for 20 years as a welder at the former Chicago Pneumatic Tool in Franklin.

Fred attended Grace United Methodist Church in Rocky Grove.

He was associated with the Rainbow Archery Club for many years, The Franklin Issac Walton Club and presently a member of the Oil City Issac Walton Club. He loved to hunt, fish, and shoot his .22 and air guns.

On March 10, 1960 he married the former Janice Marie Wagner and she survives.

Also surviving are three children; James Whitten of TX, Robin Hines and her husband Robert of Florida; and Raymond Whitten of Franklin; five grandchildren, Matthew Davis, Sheila Hines, Brian Hines, Shea Whitten and Stormie Whitten; and seven great-grandchildren.

Dad will be deeply missed by his entire family.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin, where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Atkinson, Pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
