VENANGO CO., Pa. (EYT) — Free Naloxone kits will be available in Venango County today through Gov. Tom Wolf’s Stop Overdoses initiative.

People in the Venango County area will be able to get naloxone for free today at the state Health Department building, 3298 Route 257, Seneca from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Venango County residents may also get a certificate for free naloxone from the Venango County Human Services office, located at 1 Dale Avenue in Franklin, to be redeemed at Rite Aid.

It will also be provided at nearly 80 locations across the state, primarily at state health centers and county/municipal health departments, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., as part of the administration’s ongoing effort to reduce the number of opioid overdoses and get residents into treatment.

Naloxone will be available for free today at Clarion County SHC (State Health Center) located at Applewood Center, 162 S. 2nd Street, Suite D in Clarion and in Forest County at the State Health Center, located at 305 S. Elm Street in Tionesta.

Due to a standing order prescription signed by state Health Secretary Rachel Levine, naloxone is also available for purchase at pharmacies statewide every day without a prescription.

Additional information on Stop Overdoses Week and naloxone can be found on the state’s website at www.pa.gov/opioids on Facebook and Twitter.
