Freezing Rain Causes One-Car Crash in Tionesta Township

TIONESTA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say around 10:05 a.m. on January 18, a one-car accident occurred on State Route 36, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

According to police, 33-year-old Edward J. Wyant, of Erie, was traveling on SR 36 and lost control of his 2005 Chevrolet Malibu on the freezing rain covered roadway.

Wyant avoided an oncoming vehicle before leaving the roadway and striking a ditch and tree before coming to a rest.

Wyant was using a seat belt and was not injured.

Tionesta Fire Department assisted at the scene.
