French Creek Farms Hosting First Annual Rod & Gun Weekend

UTICA, Pa. (EYT) – Hunt groundhogs and fish at beautiful French Creek Farms during the first annual Rod and Gun Weekend.

Join the folks over at French Creek Farms on July 5, 6, and 7 for a chance to win cash prizes while participating in fishing and hunting competitions. Registration for the event starts at 5 p.m. on July 5th. Start times for both events are at dawn on Saturday and Sunday. Both events end at 7 p.m. The entry fee is $5:00 per person.

The event features both youth and adult competitions.

The fishing competition will have cash prizes and trophies for the largest fish and bass. There will also be a catch and release competition where the fish will be judged and awarded based on length.

Cash prizes will also be awarded for the groundhog hunting competition. Participants will hunt in groups of two and the groundhogs will be judged and awarded according to weight.

Both competitions cost $20.00 per adult and $10.00 for kids under twelve.

Any person with a valid hunting or fishing license is eligible to participate in both events. All youth must be accompanied by a licensed adult. All Pa. hunting/fishing rules and safety regulations apply.

There will also be karaoke from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with cash prizes for the winners. A “float down the lazy river” will be held on Sunday at noon. Bring anything that floats and your favorite beverages.
