WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. (EYT) — A Fryburg man accused of threatening to shoot and kill a woman is scheduled to appear in court today.

Court documents indicate 64-year-old Scot Alan McDermid, of Fryburg, is scheduled to stand for a preliminary hearing in front of Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12.

He is facing the following charges:

• Terroristic Threats With Intent to Terrorize Another, Misdemeanor 1
• Harassment — Communicate Lewd, Threatening, Etc. Language, Misdemeanor 3
• Harassment — Subject Other to Physical Contact, Summary

According to a criminal complaint, around 6:32 a.m. on January 13, 2019, Marienville-based State Police received a phone call from Scot McDermid requesting that the state police return his firearm, which was seized during an unrelated incident.

According to the complaint, around 8:32 a.m. on January 13, the Marienville-based State Police received a phone call from a known female regarding threats made by McDermid. During an interview, the woman provided police with a voicemail message McDermid left on her phone at 6:23 a.m. that day stating he was “leaving that morning and heading that way” and “fixing to [expletive] hurt somebody.” He also stated “you watch your [expletive] back you little [expletive],” in the message.

The complaint states that the woman said she spoke with McDermid around 8:13 a.m. via telephone and he told her he was heading back to Pennsylvania. She told police that McDermid said he purchased a gun from a flea market and was going to kill her. She also stated that McDermid told her to warn other residents in the house because he would “take care of anyone else” after he “took care” of her.

McDermid was arraigned at 10:03 a.m. on Friday, February 1, in front of Magisterial District Judge Timothy P. Schill.

Unable to post $50,000.00 cash bail, McDermid remains lodged in the Clarion County Jail.
