Fryburg Mayfest Announces 2016 Maybug Winners

FRYBURG, Pa. –Fryburg Mayfest announced the 2016 Maybug winners on Wednesday, May 25. The winners got to ride in the “Shining Through the Years” parade that took place yesterday.

The winners were 3-year-old Adalyn, daughter of Jason and Tori Amsler, of Shippenville, and 3-year-old Declan, son of Joe and Holly Cunningham, of Lucinda.

Both winners were awarded a $100 gift card to Toys “R” Us.

Second place winners were 3-year-old Grant Irwin, son of Brigette Irwin and Kert Irwin, of Fryburg, and 7-year-old Olivia Gwin, daughter of Janine and Paul Gwin, of Marble.

They received a $50 Toys “R” Us gift card.

Third place winners were 4-year-old Emma Fenstermaker, daughter of Jonah and Lindsay Fenstermaker, and David Lutz, son of Zachary and Danielle Lutz, of Emlenton.

They received a $25 Toys “R” Us gift card.

The winners rode in the “Shining Through the Years” parade on their own ride.

The remaining 17 applicants had the opportunity to ride on the Kahle’s Kitchen Train as part of the Maybug Court in the parade.

William Ditz acted as grand marshal for the parade.

The event was a fundraiser for Mayfest and brought close to $1000 in proceeds.

Fryburg Mayfest would like to thank all of the participants and voters of this year’s Maybug contest.

Fryburg’s annual Mayfest will take place on May 27-28 this year.
