Garnett LindquistGarnett G. Lindquist, 93, of Oil City, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at Oakwood Heights.

Born September 20, 1921 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel Gesin Gibson.

Mrs. Lindquist grew up in Siverly and attended Oil City schools.

She worked for General Telephone Company until 1960, and then worked at Katheryn Genevieve’s Shop from 1971 to 1985 as a clerk and in alterations.

Mrs. Lindquist was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, and had been active with the YWCA where she served on the board.

She was married to Charles Steward for 16 years, who preceded her in death, and was married to Clifford Lindquist for 23 years. He preceded her in death on 1983.

Surviving are her children, Carole Campbell of Mars, Cheryl Walter of York, Becka Swartzlander of Cranberry, and David Lindquist of Woodinville WA; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Joyce Gibson of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shirley Steward; a daughter, Susan Highfield; a brother, Walter Gibson; and a sister, Grace Gibson.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 7 pm.

Funeral services will be conducted in Zion Lutheran Church at 11 am Saturday with the Rev. Randall Frenz, pastor, officiating.

Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church, the Venango County VNA Foundation, or the Kirtland Cancer Foundation.
