Gary L. “Gig” Baker, 52, of Franklin, passed away at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 9:14 am surrounded by his family.

Born in Franklin on January 5th, 1965, he was the son of Louis L. and Margaret J. Willyoung Baker.

Gig was a 1983 graduate of Franklin High School. On December 9, 2008, he married Adrian Thornton Baker.

He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

He loved horses and barrel racing, his dog Low Rider and doing concrete work in his construction company, B & B Construction.

He also loved his wife and his family but his biggest love was being a grandfather.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Baker of Franklin; his wife, Adrian Baker of Franklin; his daughters Ashley Stafiej and husband Mike of Pittsburgh, Kayla Peterson and husband Ryan of San Antonio, TX; his step- daughter Jayma Marbich and husband Daniel of Polk; his step-son Robert L. Montgomery of Franklin; and his grandchildren Evan and Jacob Stafiej of Pittsburgh, Lucy and Brooks Peterson of San Antonio, TX, Ethan and Ella Marbich of Polk and Kooper and Tucker Montgomery of Franklin. He is further survived by his sisters Gina McCullon and husband Michael of Franklin and Shelly Rust and husband Timothy of Franklin; his brother Darin Baker and wife Bridget of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Beulah Willyoung; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Amy Baker and an infant grandson, Gunner Montgomery.

Friends are invited to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Friday, July 14 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 10:00 am at the Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Atkinson, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be at Morrison Cemetery.

Family has asked for memorial contributions to be sent to the Venango Area Riding Handicapped Association (VARHA), Wagner Therapeutic Riding Center, 150 Wagner Drive, Franklin, PA 16323.
