George (“Butch”) E. McCool Jr., 63, of Franklin died at 12:30 PM, on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at his residence.

Born March 01, 1950 in Erie, PA, he was the son of George E. McCool, Sr. and Donna M. Sharp.

Mr. McCool was employed as a mechanic. He enjoyed NASCAR, racing, motorcycles, animals, and rebuilding motors. He also had a classic car collection.

George is survived by his father, George E. McCool, Sr. and his wife, Judy of Harborcreek, PA; his son, Edward R. McCool and his wife, Holly of Bellefonte, PA; his daughter, Amy McCool of Shelby, NC; his sister, Kathie Groney and her husband, Paul of Harborcreek, PA; and his three grandchildren Tala McCool, Steven Atwood, and Dale Atwood.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna M. Sharp and his daughter, Rebecca McCool.

Friends will be received at the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Friday, May 31, 2013, from 3-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 5:00 p.m., following visitation with the Rev. Joseph P. Martin, Jr. of the Bethel United Methodist Church, officiating.
