George E. Noble, 79, of Licking Twp., Callensburg Area, passed away early Monday morning (1-2-17) of natural causes, shortly after arrival at the emergency room of Clarion Hospital.

Born in Hardburley, Ky., on July 1, 1937, he was son of late James and Hannah Ritchie Noble.

George was an honorably discharged veteran of twenty two years service with the United States Air Force, many of those years as an Aerospace Control and Warning System Technician. He was discharged with rank of Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). He earned two Bronze Stars, Air Force Meritorious and Commendation Medals, Air Force Longevity Service and Good Conduct Medals, and the Parachute Badge.

Mr. Noble was a life member of the DAV, the VFW Post 7073 of Parker, and American Legion Post 636 of Foxburg.

Following military retirement, he was a boiler operator at Clarion University from where he retired in 1999.

He enjoyed traveling, especially to visit all the “old West” as well as visiting fellow “vets” along the way.

Surviving are his wife, Darlene Kasper Noble, as well as five daughters: Dixie (Oscar) Comesanas, Cynthia (Rick) Mellomida, Becky Noble, Sherry Struebing, all of California, and Margie (Tony) Wright of Maryland; sister: Margie Kessell of Dayton, OH; brothers Billy Joe Noble of Fairborne, OH and James Jerry Noble of Union, KY.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 11am to 2pm Saturday at H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker, where funeral services will be held at 2pm.

Interment will follow at Callensburg Cemetery.

Members of VFW and American Legion Posts of Parker (Foxburg) will conduct a veterans service at 1:45pm at the funeral home.
