Geraldine Johnson, 93, of Seneca, passed away in her son’s home on Friday, February 15, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 25, 1925 in Oil City, she was the only child of the late Willis and Carrie (Lineman) Whitling.

Geraldine married the love of her life, Raymond Wesley Johnson on October 31, 1942; he preceded her in death on October 14, 1987.

For most of her life, Geraldine worked as a Caregiver and put most of her energy into raising her own family.

In her spare time, Geraldine enjoyed the simple things in life. She was a member of the Fox Street Church of God for over 50 years. She was known as a lover of cats and always extended a helping hand to strays in need. Geraldine also spent many hours tending to her garden and cooking wonderful dishes for her family and friends.

Most of all, Geraldine cherished the time she spent with her large family and the undying love she could give them.

Geraldine is survived by her son, William R. Johnson and his wife, Glory, of Seneca; her 2 daughters, Rebecca Liskey and her husband, Merle, of Florida, and Amy Schaub of Franklin; her 6 grandchildren; her 5 step-grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her 5 step-great-grandchildren; her 2 great-great-grandchildren; her 2 step-great-great-granddaughters; and her 2 brothers-in-law; Donald Johnson of Reno, and James Roland of Franklin.

In addition to her parents and husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Richard Schaub.

In accordance to Geraldine’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Geraldine’s honor and will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in Geraldine’s name to the Venango Visiting Nurses Association Foundation, 491 Allegheny Blvd, Franklin, PA 16323; to the Fox Street Church of God, 229 Fox Street, Franklin, PA 16323; and/or to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 South Main Street, Seneca, PA 16346.
