Gilbert E. Pannebaker

PannbakerMr. Gilbert E. Pannebaker, Jr., 71, a resident at the Crawford County Care Center passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at the Meadville Medical Center. He was formerly of Mansfield.

Mr. Pannebaker was born on August 7, 1944, in Mechanicsburg to the late Gilbert E. Sr. and Carolyn Kepner Pannebaker. He married Lois Haring on August 18, 1963, at Lewisberry, Pa.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Pannebaker was employed as a truck driver for moving and freight companies before retiring in 1999.

He attended the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Cooperstown.

Gilbert enjoyed the outdoors fishing and hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and was always kind and giving to others.

He is survived by his wife Lois Pannebaker of Cooperstown; five children, Angela Yauger and husband Rev. Timothy of Cooperstown, Gilbert Pannebaker III and wife Julie of Mansfield, Dianna Pannebaker of Mansfield, Eileen Cole and husband Travis of Mainesburg, Charlene Strong and husband Eric of Richfield; eight grandchildren, two sisters, Bernice Burlap & Dorothy Duval; five step-brothers, three step-sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Pannebaker was preceded in death by a son, Michael Pannebaker and a step-mother, Lucille Pannebaker.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. with the service to follow conducted by Gilbert’s son-in-law, Rev. Timothy Yauger, pastor of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Cooperstown, officiating.

Interment will be in Black Ash Cemetery.
