Glenna Faye Canby

Glenna Faye Canby, 75, of Shippenville, passed away early Sunday morning, May 20, 2018, at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Facility after a lengthy illness.

She was born on June 8, 1933, in Salem Township; daughter of the late Merle and Alva Rapp Ritts.

Glenna graduated from Salem High School in 1951.

She married Melbourne “Jack” Canby 63 years ago on March 11, 1955, in the Knox United Methodist Church.

Glenna held many jobs over her lifetime, including waitressing at the Knox Diner and also working at Knox Glass and Area of Aging in Clarion.

She was a member of the Knox United Methodist Church.

Glenna loved to travel and enjoyed needlepoint and playing Euchre.

She is survived by her loving husband, one son, Tim Canby and his wife Marcy of Peach Bottom, PA, a grandson, Charlie Canby and his mother, Debra Canby, and a brother-in-law, Allen Canby and his wife Julĕ of Arizona.

Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Don, Ralph, and Jerry Ritts, and two sisters, Marlene Carr and Judy Gardener.

At Glenna’s request, there will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion.

The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion is handling the arrangements.
