Gloria Gay Ekis Hillard, 77, of Vowinckel, PA, passed away on July 9, 2017 at her home.

Born on September 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Floyd M. and Dora Jewel Riggs Cussins.

On June 1, 1957, Gay married Carl H. Ekis. They moved to Texas in 1982 and returned to Marienville, PA in 1990. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1997.

She later married James M. Hillard on November 27, 2004. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2016.

Mrs. Hillard was an active member of the Greenwood United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Virginia and Oscar Eck of Marienville, Teresa and Gerald Rourke of Sheffield, PA, and Robert and Kay Ekis of Huntsville, TX; seven grandchildren, Kevin Eck, Tanner Eck, Carl Rourke, Breanna Winkle, Erin Hammerbeck, Jason Rourke, and Robert Carl Ekis II; and eight great-grandchildren, Braydon Lantz, Gavin Rourke, Kyla Rourke, Daniel Winkle, Annalise Winkle, Isaac Hammerbeck, Noah Hammerbeck, and Imogen Rourke.

Also surviving are a sister, Betty Kunselman; a brother, Daniel Cussins; and two sisters-in-law, Jacquie Cussins and Geraldine Weaver.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Mrs. Hillard is preceded in death by a sister, Virginia and three brothers, Marvin, Donald, and Gerald (Jerry) Cussins.

The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Greenwood United Methodist Church.
