| July 20, 2017

FRANKLIN, Pa. – A golf event remembering the late David Hampson, who pastored Galloway United Methodist Church in Franklin for 15 years, is set for 1 p.m. Aug. 27 at Lucky Hills Golf Course in Franklin.

Lucky Hill is where Hampson played many rounds while serving as pastor at the Galloway Church, and up to 18 foursomes can enter the 18-hole Dave Hampson Memorial, which will feature a shotgun start, championship prize ($200 to the winning team), skill prizes (longest drive, longest putt, closest to the pin), mulligans, an auction, 50/50 drawing, snacks and a picnic after play.

The entry fee is $200 per foursome. Teams can enter or learn more by contacting co-chairmen Chris Porter (814-437-7396 or christianp1@verizon.net) or Dennis Baker (814-437-5066 or dbaker594@verizon.net). The entry deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 16.

Information about several levels of sponsorship for the benefit event also is available from the co-chairmen.

All proceeds will go to Reach One Touch One Ministries (ROTOM), an African mission organization that Hampson helped to create and that he served as a board member for several years before he died of cancer in August 2016. ROTOM is a non-profit, non-denominational mission organization that ministers to vulnerable older persons and their dependents in the East African nation of Uganda, where Hampson twice visited while serving the ROTOM ministry.
