Harold R Weaver

Harold R Weaver, known to his friends as Fuzzy, died peacefully with his daughter Valari at his side on May 21, 2019.

Harold was born at home in Van, Pa to Fred and Lillian Weaver on July 18, 1925. He married Martha Minnick on April 24, 1943. Martha preceded him in death on April 23, 2017, 0ne day before their 74th anniversary. Harold resided in Venango county most of his life, except for 4 years in Tidioute PA. and the last two years that he resided in his daughter Valari Zanghi’s home in Cheektowaga NY.

Harold is survived by his daughter Sandra Ward, and Sons Donald, Frederick, Reid, and Eric. Harold is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Harold served in the Army during ww2 and received an honorable discharge in 1945, after discharge he went to work for National Fuel Gas Company. Where he met and became good friends with Marlin J (Bud) Kennedy, a friendship that endured until Harold passed. He retired in 1984 and he and Martha bought a travel trailer and travel they did. They went to campgrounds all over the Eastern part of the United States, one of their favorite places was Ocala, Florida. He and Martha raised beef cattle and had a large garden from which they canned most of their food. One of his favorite past times was hunting and fishing. His favorite fishing trip was one he took a few summers with his good friend Carl McIlwane and D.O. Wenner down the Allegheny River from Salamanca NY to Franklin PA before the Kinzua Dam was built.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge since 1961, he and Martha attended the Methodist church and Nickelville Presbyterian Church for many years. They enjoyed square dancing at the Rockland Sportsman’s Club with several friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Avonelle Meade and Barbara Melat

At Harold’s request, there were no services.
