Harrisville Man Injured in Sandycreek Township Crash

SANDYCREEK TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a Harrisville man was injured in a Tuesday afternoon crash in Sandycreek Township, Venango County.

According to Franklin-based State Police, around 4:14 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 84-year-old Donald E. White, of Franklin, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu LS, traveling south on Pittsburgh Road near DeBence Drive in Sandycreek Township.

Police say a 2001 Ford F250 operated by 53-year-old John E. Bennett Jr., of Harrisville, was traveling through the intersection with Polk Cutoff when it was struck by White’s vehicle on the front passenger side, sending Bennett’s vehicle into a spin.

Bennett’s vehicle spun across the northbound lane of Pittsburgh Road and came to its position of final rest on the shoulder of the northbound lane.

Bennett was transported to UPMC Northwest for suspected minor injuries.

White was not injured.

Both drivers were using seat belts.

Both units sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene by Venango Towing.

White was charged with a traffic violation.
