Hazel B. Yeager

Hazel B. Yeager, age 94, a 70 year resident of New Bethlehem, died early Monday morning, July 21, 2014.

Born December 6, 1919 in Worthville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Dollie (Geist) Nolf.

She married Walter L. Yeager on June 27, 1940. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2000.

Hazel worked as a cashier at the A&P Store and Comet Market.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Bethlehem.

Hazel enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a caring person, who liked doing things for others.

Survivors include her two daughters: Patricia Pitney and husband, Robert, Sr. of Murrysville and Sandra Hetrick and her husband, William of New Bethlehem; five grandchildren: Robert Pitney, Jr. and wife Rachael of Oxford, Sarah King and husband, Roger of Greenville, Jennifer McGarry and husband, Jeremy of Erie, Matthew Hetrick and wife, Christina of New Bethlehem, and Ryan Hetrick of New Bethlehem; and nine great- grandchildren: Luke and Meghan Pitney, Jonathan and Kathleen King, Sydney and Michael McGarry, and Miles, Adelyn and Myra Hetrick.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Lee Mottern.

Family and friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 234 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Jodie Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the Worthville Cemetery, Jefferson County.

Memorial contributions may be given in the name of Hazel B. Yeager to the First United Methodist Church, 234 Penn Street, New Bethlehem, PA 16242
