SUGARCREEK BORO, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based state police, a two-vehicle head-on collision occurred in Sugarcreek Boro, Venango County, Pa.

Police say around 2:00 p.m. on September 23, 2012, a two-vehicle crash occurred on Warren Road in Sugarcreek Boro involving 20-year-old Justin D. Hawkins of Franklin and 52-year-old Rita S. Truitt of Oil City.

The accident occurred as Hawkins was traveling North on Warren Road in a 1997 Ford F250, and Truitt was traveling South in a 2006 Pontiac Torrent.

Hawkins was in the southbound lane going north while negotiating a left hand turn and struck Truitt head on.

Hawkins continued north and struck the guardrail.

Hawkins and his passenger, 17-year-old Gary Baker of Franklin, were both wearing their seat belts; neither were injured.

Truitt was also wearing her seat belt and did not suffer any injuries.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
