Helen Ann (Loncharic) Gillot, age 96, formerly of Hiawatha Street Brookville, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in Oakwood, Georgia where she most recently resided at the The Waterford, an assisted living and memory care facility.

She was born in Brookville on July 28, 1920, to the late Frank and Maria (Zuscak) Loncharic.

Helen’s working career in Brookville spanned over 50 years. In the 1950s, she began at Wein’s Ladies Store on Main Street, which later became known as Van Dales Clothing. From there she hired on at All My Favorite Things also located on Main Street. She ultimately finished her career working in retail at Dan Smith’s Candies before she retired.

In her spare time, Helen loved to quilt, an art that she learned from her mother at an early age. She provided the finest of hand quilting to people all over the country for over 60 years. While in Brookville, she was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and held various positions in the Rosary Society there.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ellsworth; two brothers and their wives, Frank (Jane) and Vincent (Mary) Loncharic; a niece, Mary Darlene Loncharic; and a nephew, Steve Loncharic.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Joe) Fluckiger of LaFargeville, New York; a son, Edgar (Linda) of Gainesville, Georgia; a sister, Elizabeth (Michael) Marhefka of Wickliffe, Ohio; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm, at the McKinney — d’Argy Funeral Home ltd, 345 Main St., Brookville, PA.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 129 Graham Ave, Brookville, PA, 15825, beginning at 10:00am, and officiated by Father William Laska.

Interment immediately follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Rose Twp., Jefferson Co., PA.
