Born December 4, 1940 in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence “Jud” and Irma Swartzfager Manross.
She graduated from Cranberry High School in 1958 then graduated from cosmetology school.
Helen married Paul E Bashline on September 4, 1959. He preceded her in death.
She helped to run the Pine City Variety Center, cleaned for area banks and worked in home health care.
Helen was a member of the Pine City United Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family, along with planting, gardening, fishing, and hunting.
Survivors include her two sons; Vern E. Bashline and his wife, Donna and Stanley A. Bashline, all of Pine City; four grandchildren: Matt Bashline and wife, Katie, of Emlenton and Shawn, Aaron and Nathen Bashline, all of Philadelphia.
Helen is also survived by a great granddaughter, Laurelyn Bashline of Philadelphia and mother-in-law, Dorothy Bashline of Knox.
In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael A. Bashline; an infant brother; grandson, Scott E. Bashline and granddaughter, Glenna Bashline.
Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc., 430 Mendenhall Avenue, Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 in the funeral home with the Reverend Dan Grimes officiating.
Interment will follow in the Perry Chapel Cemetery at Pine City.
