Helen Joan Attleberger, 84, of Franklin went to be with Jesus at 3:00 pm October 9th, 2017 at Sugarcreek Station.

Joan fought a battle for several years against Alzheimers.

Born in Oil City on November 24th, 1932, she was the daughter of Lee E. and Grace L. (Ross) Hovis.

She was formerly married to Hays Adams. She then married Raymond Attleberger.

She worked at Polk Center for 28 years. She later worked at Easter Seals in Franklin.

Joan is survived by her two children, Brenda Sensenbach of Franklin and Ken Adams and wife Rose of Oil City. She is also survived by her step-children, Ray, JR of California and Richard, Robert and Bruce all of Oil City; her step-daughter, Anna of Jamestown, NY; several grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and her cat, Babee II. She is further survived by her sister, Joyce Hays of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first and second husbands and a step-daughter, Kathy, in 1971.

Friends are invited to the Gardinier Funeral Home, Inc., 1315 Chestnut Street, Franklin, on Thursday, October 12th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held immediately following on Thursday at 11:00 am with Rev. Richard Cauvel, JR will officiate.

Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
