Henry “Mac” McFadden

Henry “Mac” McFadden, 92, of Oil City, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2017, at Oakwood Heights.

Mac was born December 19, 1924, in Clintonville, PA. He was the son of the late James and Elsie McFadden.

Following his graduation from Oil City High School, he enlisted in the US Army. He served in World War II, in the 41st Division, South Pacific. He earned two bronze stars with the Asiatic Pacific Theater and then again with the Philippine Liberation. He was awarded the Victory Medal, Bronze Arrowhead, and the Purple Heart, and discharged in January of 1946.

Mr. McFadden was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where he served as the financial secretary for several years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking.

Mac had been employed at Graham Auto Body, Worthington, and retired in 1988 from Riddle Brothers Auto Body, after 30 years.

Mr. McFadden was married to the former Betty “Lois” McIntire on June 4, 1948, who preceded him in death on December 7, 2012.

He is survived by two sons, Douglas McFadden and his wife Barbara of Missouri City, TX, and Keith McFadden and his wife Martha of Oil City; one granddaughter, Molly Whitling and her husband Ed of Rocky Grove; two grandsons, Jonathan McFadden and his wife Leah of Lexington, KY, and Michael McFadden of Houston, TX; three great-grandsons, Carson Whitling and Cameron Whitling of Rocky Grove and Henry McFadden of Lexington, KY; and a nephew, Floyd Shuler, Jr. of Grove City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lena Shuler, and two brothers, Kenneth McFadden and Claude McFadden.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Monday from 10 to 11 am.

Funeral services will follow at 11 am in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Rudge officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Sandy Lake.

The family requests memorials be made to the Venango County Humane Society, 286 S Main Street, Seneca, PA 16346.
