Hit and Run Reported in Tionesta Township

TIONESTA TWP., Pa. (EYT) — Police say a teen driver fled the scene of a crash in Tionesta Township on Sunday morning.

According to police, around 6:01 a.m. on Sunday, March 3, a 2010 Mazda 3 traveling west on German Hill Road in Tionesta Township, Forest County, swerved to avoid a deer and lost control while negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway.

Police say the vehicle exited the roadway on the north side and struck an embankment causing it to overturn. It then came to a final rest on its roof in the westbound lane facing northwest.

According to police, the driver, a 16-year-old male from Burghill, Ohio, and two female passengers fled the scene of the crash.

The driver is being charged with a traffic violation.
