HICKORY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Marienville-based State Police, around 9:45 p.m. on June 13, a hit and run accident occurred on State Route 62, in Hickory Township, Forest County.

Police say an SUV and a 2001 Ford Ranger, driven by 73-year-old Hazel M. Jennings, of Oil City, were traveling north on Route 62.

The Ford slowed, attempting to turn right into a private driveway, and the SUV attempted to pass it on the right as it was turning. The SUV sideswiped the Ford on its right side, impacting the right front tire causing tie-rod end damage, according to police.

The driver of the SUV continued north on Route 62, failing to stop and exchange information with Jennings, police say.

Jennings followed the vehicle north on SR 62, east on SR 666, south on Old Route 62 to Church Hill. The vehicle then traveled south on SR 62 and Jennings stopped following the vehicle, according to police.

Jennings was using a seat belt and was not injured.

The SUV was described as red in color and should have left side/front damage, police say.
