Howard CrispenHoward D. “Ted” Crispen, 72, of 4623 Rt 861 Rimersburg, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday December 30, 2016 at UMPC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born April 11, 1944 in the Village of Bela, Toby Township, Clarion County, he was the son of Kenneth L. Huck Crispen and Inie (McNany) Crispen.

Ted was a State Inspector for PennDot for 30 years and retired in 1994.

He was a partner with Crispen Coal Company and was also a founding partner in Sligo Auto Salvage.

Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his side by side, and attending car shows.

He is survived by a special friend Betty Craig of Rimersburg, two sons; Kenny Crispen and his wife Susan of Huey and Edward Crispen and his wife Lee-Ann of Janesville, Wisconsin, three grandchildren; Kyle, Shannon, and Shane Crispen.

He is also survived by a sister Shirley Shimmons of Huey and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by his twin brother Ed Crispen.

Ted’s family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday January 3, 2017 at the Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday January 4, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Ryver, Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in New Bethlehem, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Concord Cemetery.
